The Malaysian Fire Protection Association (MFPA)
was formed in 1976 by a group of Malaysian pioneer and expatriates in the
fire industry and was registered as a society on 26th July 1977. MFPA has
grown into an organized and cohesive organization, representing the
manufacturers, contractors and professionals in the fire trades. Throughout
the years, it has organized various short courses for the betterment of its
members. To ensure a continuous improvement in the industry, MFPA is
collaborating with the Fire & Rescue Department Malaysia, institution
of higher learning and various professional bodies in conducting seminars
and exhibitions in different states of Malaysia. The organization is
actively involved in the development of the Malaysian Standards through its
participation in various SIRIM Technical Committees and Working Groups on
fire safety and protection. In addition, MFPA collaborated in the standards
writing for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, Specifications for Fire
Hydrants, Specifications for Portable Fire Extinguishers, Automatic
Sprinkler Systems, Gaseous Fire Extinguishing System and Fire Resistant Doorset and other related fire safety systems.

The FPASA is particularly active in the provision of training courses

by funding from the short-term insurance industry in South Africa and while
the Association still enjoys the
active support of this group (which consists of all short-term insurers,

The Swedish Fire Protection Association - which is known in Swedish
as Brandskyddsföreningen Sverige
- is a non-profit association membership organisation. Our vision is”a Sweden with greater fire safety”. The work
undertaken by SFPA covers broad field of activities including a production
of printed material and dissemination of information, the management and
administration of training programmes, as well as all manner extensive
experience and competence in these areas. Since its foundation in 1919, the
association has played a vital role in on-going fire protection efforts.
SFPA is co-operation very close with the 22 Regional Fire Protection
Associations, and together we have the same trademark. SFPA has an
important function as a pressure group to bring influence to bear on

services, representatives for insurance companies, commerce and industry,
